For those that may not know, Dragon Ball Super isn"t the only sequel to Dragon Ball Z. The original sequel was released in 1996 và was titled Dragon Ball GT. The series made some infamous transformation and plot decisions but it was nowhere near as controversial as its "sequel" Dragon Ball AF.

While this transformation is powerful it completely takes over Goku, meaning he"s unable to control it. He"s not exactly sure how to manually tap into it either.

In Dragon Ball AF there"s a very similar transformation to lớn this called Super Saiyan 5. Not only does it change Goku"s hair khổng lồ a shiny white màu sắc but it is also a mystery khổng lồ tap into as well as control for him.

This change is honestly one of the things that Dragon Ball Super did wrong as in that series Goten và Trunks have seemingly regressed. This isn"t the case in Dragon Ball AF as Goten và Trunks are young adults, a good bit older than they were in Dragon Ball GT. They also actively join in on fights for the Earth & unlock new forms for the Gotenks fusion.

7 THE SAME: GOD KI IS A HUGE FOCUS

Dragon Ball Super"s newest big transformation that it seems everyone is after is the Super Saiyan God form. This khung of Super Saiyan is attained by harnessing God ki & manifesting it through the Saiyan aura. This God ki needed lớn be mastered for Goku to battle the God of Destruction himself, Lord Beerus.

God ki is a very important plot point in Dragon Ball AF as well. In this series, there is a need to master Demon or God ki lớn defeat an evil Kaioshin và her son. Speaking of evil Kaioshin, that"s another similarity.

During the events of Dragon Ball Super Goku is front and center. He can be looked at as the main character of Super as well, as he"s the one that makes the most developments throughout the series with new exclusive forms và of course the most influence out of the cast on events.

Dragon Ball AF shook this up by taking off right where Dragon Ball GT left us, meaning that Goku is no longer on Earth. This leaves characters lượt thích Gohan và Vegeta khổng lồ train & lead the battle for Earth with the new generation of Z-Warriors.

5 THE SAME: A KAIOSHIN THAT HATES HUMANITY

In Dragon Ball Super"s Future Trunks Arc we are introduced to an evil Kaioshin that blew up in popularity. That evil Kaioshin is Zamasu and he hated humanity and mortals. He hated the fact that a mortal dare chase after the nguồn of Gods. He takes revenge by seeking the over of mortals using the image of the greatest mortal, Goku.

This is almost point for point the same backstory of Dragon Ball AF"s Lila-Sama. A Kaioshin that is apparently Frieza and Cooler"s mother. She also uses the image of Goku lớn exact vengeance which we"ll be delving into soon.

A huge piece of the celebration that came to Dragon Ball Super was due to lớn the return of Goku"s rival and the eternal enemy of the Saiyans, Lord Frieza. He came khổng lồ Earth with a new size in Golden Frieza to lớn get his revenge on Goku, Vegeta, & everyone else that wronged him.

Well in Dragon Ball AF someone does come khổng lồ Earth khổng lồ get revenge for Frieza but it isn"t Frieza. This new enemy is the son of Frieza, Ize. He is the last of his race and has a power cấp độ 10x higher than that of his father"s.

3 THE SAME: AN EVIL GOKU

In Dragon Ball Super our evil Kaioshin, Zamasu steals the toàn thân of our hero Goku & uses this new toàn thân to complete his plan. Not only does he steal his image, but he unlocks a new never before seen transformation using Goku"s power.

Much like the case of Zamasu we have an evil Kaioshin use Goku"s power to complete their evil plan. Lila creates what basically amounts to lớn an evil clone of Goku, Zaiko, using his DNA. Much lượt thích Zamasu he unlocks a new form. This form is called a Super Saiyan 9. This character has more likenesses lớn Zamasu than this as well!

As we all know, Future Trunks is the one khổng lồ lead the fight against the evil Goku of Dragon Ball Super in his saga. He"s actually the one lớn initiate the whole struggle against this new villain for our main heroes as Goku Black/Zamasu originally hails from his timeline/altered reality.

This is not the case in Dragon Ball AF as our evil Goku simply hails from our dimension but came from the planet of the Kais with his mother. No one hero initiates this battle but it can be said that Gohan & Vegeta lead the battle against him.

1 THE SAME: THE HEROES ATTEMPT to TRAP THE VILLAIN

During the Future Trunks/Goku black arc of Dragon Ball Super, our heroes are in an all-out war against Goku Black/Zamasu to lớn save the future & prevent him from destroying humanity. In an act of desperation, Trunks attempts lớn trap him via the Mafuba. However, this seal only works temporarily with Zamasu escaping shortly after.

This is another part that Super follows from AF beat for beat. However, in AF it"s Gohan attempting the seal using his Z-Sword. Much like Zamasu, Zaiko escapes this seal shortly after being trapped.
